4GEON Enthusiastic International Team

Assoc. Prof. Martina Pásková is the leader of the 4GEON project. She works at the Department of Tourism at the University of Hradec Králové (Czech Republic), focusing her research on tourism sustainability, geopark management, Earth heritage interpretation, and indigenous knowledge. Martina is a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council, the Executive Board of the Global Geoparks Network, and the Environment Commission of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She chairs the Subcommittee on the Environment of the Czech Commission for UNESCO and the National Geoparks Council. She also serves as a senior evaluator for UNESCO Global Geoparks and a reviewer for a number of indexed journals. Martina enjoys independent travel, trail running, and swimming in nature.

Prof. Josef Zelenka supports 4GEON media presence, advocates for meanigful generative AI use and supports Martina in project management. Josef investigates sustainable tourism, social responsibility in the industry, geotourism, and visitor management in protected areas, with recent work exploring water pollution from tourism and astrotourism. As a full professor he teaches and conducts research at Department of Recreology and Tourism, Faculty of Informatics and Management of University of Hradec Králové.

Dr. Radek Mikuláš is the 4GEON geologist and palaeontologist, specialist in the study of biogenic reworking of rocks, not only in Czechia, but also in Patagonia, Siberia and Egypt. He has published several hundred professional and educational articles and is the author of several books. As a populariser of science, he has given numerous public and radio lectures. He works at Institute of Geology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

Dr. David Zejda is the 4GEON IT guy - a software architect and scientist with expertise on systems modeling, business process automation, multi-agent simulation, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and consumer behavior, which he applies to advancing sustainable tourism, digital literacy, and immersive education through software solutions. David works for University of Hradec Králové, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and several R&D grant agencies in Czechia and beyond, as well as in the private sector.

Abraham Cáceres Cabana is the co-leader of the 4GEON project at the UNESCO Global Geopark Colca and Volcanoes of Andagua. Master in Sustainable Tourism and a specialist in community-based tourism, geotourism, and social research, leading geoeducation programs and studies on the relationship between geoparks and local populations. His work stands out for building strong community partnerships and training young leaders committed to sustainable development.

Karl Michael Berrir Din is the Resident Geologist of the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark. He provides technical expertise in the monitoring, assessment, and sustainable management of the geosites to ensure their long-term preservation. He actively facilitates geo-educational and public outreach initiatives with local communities and institutions, evaluates geohazards and development projects, and offers science-based guidance to the Provincial Government of Bohol in safeguarding the island’s karst and hydrogeological environment. He is also a member of the Philippine National Geoparks Committee.

Jovencia B. Ganub is the Department Head of the Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO), Provincial Government of Bohol where the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark was originally lodged. She is the former Geopark Coordinator and Head of the Technical Secretariat during the infancy of the Bohol Island Geopark until its designation by UNESCO in May, 2023 and an active member of the Geopark Management Council.
